All Island Schools Athletics Championship 2019

St Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya and Walala A. Ratnayake Central College, Menikinna won the overall Boys and Girls events respectively at the All Island Schools Athletics Championship 2019 which concluded in Colombo last weekend.

Walala A. Ratayake, a school well known for its athletics from Central Hills stamped their class once more. They won both the senior and junior event. Girls from the Central Hills won in all Under 16, Under 18, Under 20 and Mixed school events. Tharushi Karunaratne from Walala Central won four Golds and equalled the number of meet records at this event.

Meanwhile in the Boys segment, the boys from Bambalapitiya won the Under 18 and Under 20 event.
