Hong Kong top contender for AR Under 19

Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) will host the Asia Rugby Division 1 event from 11 to 18 June in Manila. Sri Lankan outfit which was selected for the shorter version of the games at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games will shortlist the team soon for this event.

According to the Sports Ministry, the League is expected to be complete by 5 June and the Clifford Cup knock-out event to follow soon after. 

But according to the Asia Rugby schedule, this will not be possible due to this event which will take place among Sri Lanka, Philippines, UAE, and Singapore. A non-participation could result in a demotion to Division II in 2023. 



AR Under 19 in Taipei

Meanwhile, the Asia Rugby conducted Under 19 top four will take place during the month of December in Taipei. Hosts Taipei, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka will lock horns with the winners securing their berth for the Junior Rugby World Cup Division 1 which is scheduled to take place in Spain in 2023.
