Prima, Sri Lanka’s leading nutrition company, continues its support for the development of junior golf, sponsoring the Sri Lanka Junior Open, the most prestigious Golf Championship, for the 16th consecutive year. Their commitment to nurturing young talent will once again shine at the Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship 2024, featuring rising stars from Sri Lanka and overseas.
The championship will be held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) from 10 to 12 December, with practice rounds scheduled for 9 December. Tee-off is expected to begin at 8 a.m. each day.

Recognised as the benchmark for the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR) in junior golf, the Sri Lanka Junior Open crowns the national junior champion in both the boys’ and girls’ categories, bringing gender recognition.

Prima’s steadfast support has significantly shaped Sri Lanka’s junior golf landscape, empowering rising stars such as Jevahn Sathasivam, Reshan Algama, Kaya Daluwatta, Adithya Weerasinghe, Sithara Lorance, Anumi Karunathilaka, and Jacob Norton in the senior groups and Lavindu Premarathne, Revaan Amarasingha, Thejas Rathis Kanth, and Senal Nimsith in the junior category to shine on the course. Sri Lanka Golf President Ranil Pieris said, “SLG welcomes and is grateful for Prima’s enduring partnership. It showcases the talents of Sri Lanka’s young golf talent and is a testament to Prima’s commitment to the sport.”
As the title sponsor, Prima Sunrise Bread will provide nutritional support for all players throughout the championship. The tournament will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony on 12 December at 3 p.m.
Junior Development Committee Chairperson Niloo Jayatilake, highlighted the broader impact of Prima’s sponsorship. “Long-term commitment by Prima Sunrise, spanning over a decade, has instilled a competitive landscape for juniors to excel nationally and develop as junior golfers for national representation.
