Prima Group Sri Lanka, once again propped up with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to sponsor the Under-15 Sri Lanka Youth League (SLYL) 2024, organised by SLC, under its National Pathway Program, with the objective of identifying promising young cricketers at an early stage.
From 2007, Prima Group has been the official sponsor of the Prima U15 SLYL tournament, which has served as a platform for thousands of young cricketers to represent their districts and, subsequently, their provinces. Many talented cricketers, both past and present, who represent the National Cricket Team have had their beginnings at this tournament.
Prima U15 SLYL 2024, the 50-over tournament, will be played from 21 November at Colombo University Ground, Mercantile Cricket Association Ground, Thurstan College and Royal College Ground.
Five provincial teams, Colombo North, Colombo South, Dambulla, Galle and Kandy, will compete at this tournament, where the semi-finals are scheduled for 28 November, with the final match taking place on 30 November.
SLC CEO Ashley de Silva said: “This is an important tournament in our annual development calendar and done in order to harness the future generation of our cricketers, and we value the continuous partnership by the Prima Group.”
Ceylon Agro Industries, Prima Group Sri Lanka General Manager Sajith Gunaratne said: “Prima Under-15 Sri Lanka Youth League is an incubator where future cricketing legends are forged.
