Prime Minister meets new ICC senior officials on advancing integrity in cricket

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya recently met with key figures from the International Cricket Council (ICC) Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), including the newly appointed ICC ACU Independent Chair and President’s Counsel Sumathi Dharmawardena, and ICC Integrity and Human Resources General Manager Alex Marshall (CBE, QPM). 

During the discussion, Alex Marshall noted Sri Lanka’s progress in combating corruption in cricket over the past seven years, emphasising the importance of player education and strengthening the Ministry of Sports’ Special Investigations. 

The meeting was also attended by ICC ACU Operations Senior Manager Andrew Ephgrave, President’s Office Senior Attorney and Director General of Legal Vije Bandara, Ministry of Sports Additional Secretary Illeperuma, and Sports Director General Prof. Shemal Fernando.
