Priya Hemantha returned to his winning ways after a lapse of a couple of months when he accounted for the top position at the Sri Lanka Golf July Ranking Tournament which concluded at the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) in Rajawella. The seasoned golfer played a superb final round, finishing with a total score of 304.
Hemantha’s consistent performance throughout the four-day tournament showed in a steady final round on day four. His victory was particularly significant, marking a successful comeback after a period away from the top ranks in the recent past tournaments conducted by SLG.
Anura Rohana, a well-respected professional in the golfing community, finished just one stroke behind Hemantha with a total score of 305. Rohana’s experience and tenacity were on full display, but it was his back-nine performance on the final day that secured him the second place. He edged out Chalitha Pushpika, who also finished with a score of 305, by virtue of a superior back-nine score.
Chalitha Pushpika, despite being narrowly edged out for second place, demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the tournament. His performance, along with that of Haroon Aslam and Uchitha Ranasinghe, earned them valuable world ranking points. Aslam finished fourth with a gross score of 310, while Ranasinghe secured the fifth position.
