Pro K. Prabagaran and Amateur, Haroon Aslam won the Sri Lanka Golf Union Ranking Tournament which concluded at the Victoria Golf Resort (VGR) course in Rajawella, Digana.

Pro K. Prabagaran with a lead of 7 points, finishing with a total score of 283. N. Thangaraja, another skilled professional, secured the second position with 290 points, closely trailing Prabagaran’s remarkable performance. In the amateur segment, Haroon Aslam stole the show, clinching the overall victory with a breath-taking display of talent, shooting an impressive 5 under par on the final day and finishing with a commendable overall score of 292. 

The tournament, which saw top class competition among some of the best golfers in the country, was marked by a thrilling display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Prabagaran’s remarkable 5 under par on the last day of the tournament proved to be the road to success in the end. With a grand performance throughout the competition, he showcased his experience and expertise, solidifying his position as one of Sri Lanka’s top veteran Pros. 

Thangaraja's second-place finish further highlighted the incredible talent present in the tournament. His consistent performance and undivided focus earned him a well-deserved spot on the leaderboard. The competition was intense, as Thangaraja battled it out with other skilled professionals, showcasing the high level of competitiveness in the SLG Golf Ranking tournament. 

In the amateur segment, Haroon Aslam’s spectacular victory added another dimension of excitement to the event. Aslam’s exceptional play on the final day, mirroring Prabagaran’s 5 under par, propelled him to the top of the leaderboard. This triumph marked Aslam’s first win in the Ranking tournament, a significant milestone in his golfing career. His experience playing in the United States undoubtedly played a crucial role in his success, as he demonstrated remarkable skill and composure throughout the tournament.

G. Dhanaranjan and Reshan Agama secured the second and third positions, respectively, in the professional segment. Their impressive performances underscored the depth of talent and competitiveness within the tournament. Both players exhibited great determination and skill, making the overall competition an intense battle to the very end. 

The prizes for the winners were sponsored by Dhinuka Boralassa, member of the Sri Lanka Golf National Selectors and Rizmy Shariff owner of the Golf Pro Shop in One Galle Face, Victoria and Nuwara Eliya.
