Rahul stamps his class in boxing for Trinity

Trinity College won one Gold Medal and two Bronze at the All Island Youth Boxing Tournament 2018 which took place at the Gamini Central, Ingiriya recently.

Trinity won the Gold Medal through burly Rahul Dhanaraj in the Super-heavyweight division (91+) kg. Rahul is also turning out for Trinity in Rugby Football a number 8 this year. In the Bronze Medal – Kamal Denagama (60-64 kg) weight category and Miranga Subasinghe (64-69 kg) weight category showed their class. Miranga too is in the Trinity rugby football pool of 2019.

In total 32 schools fielded 96 boxers in the all island event.

Trinity was coached by Susantha Weerasena with Lahiru Senaratne, Manju Wanniarachchi and Damith Wijeratne assisting him.
