Rain forces draw in second Under-17 three-day match

The second Under-17, three-day match between Sri Lanka and touring Bangladesh ended in a draw at the Galle International Cricket Stadium with rain having the final say.

In reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings of 304, Bangladesh replied with 328 to gain a first innings lead of 24. Sri Lanka in their second innings were 110-5, when rain ended the match on the third and final day.

A 139-run second wicket partnership between Ridoy Hossain (55 off 134 balls, 7 fours) and Adrito Ghosh (87 off 144 balls, 10 fours, 2 sixes) helped Bangladesh to top Sri Lanka’s total.

Fast bowling all-rounder Rasith Nimsara was the pick of bowlers for Sri Lanka finishing with 4/64.

The two-match series was shared nil-all with the first game also ending in a draw.
