Rain ruins Sri Lanka ‘A’ chances of final berth

• India ‘A’, Bangladesh ‘A’ to contest ACC Women’s Emerging T20 Teams Cup final

Persistent rain proved to be the undoing of Sri Lanka ‘A’ in the ACC Women’s Emerging T20 Teams Cup tournament where India ‘A’ and Bangladesh ‘A’ will contest the final at Mong Kok, Hong Kong today.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ won their first match against UAE by three wickets, but their next two group matches against Bangladesh ‘A’ and Malaysia were abandoned without a ball bowled because of rain.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ however qualified for the semi-finals against India ‘A’ but again the match was washed out without a ball bowled. India with a superior net run rate in the group stage qualified for the final. The second semi-final saw Bangladesh ‘A’ beat Pakistan ‘A’ by six runs.
