Rain spoils MCA Premier League ‘B’ Division

Rain played absolute havoc with the MCA fixtures on Wednesday, 13 September.

The 25th Singer-MCA Premier League and the 1st Fair and Lovely Men’s MCA ‘B’ Division 2018 got off to a start under a heavy raincloud on 9 September.

The rains continued and as a result the four premier league matches and three ‘B’ Division matches billed for 13 September got completely washed out.

The four Premier League games were Hayleys vs. MAS Unichela at MCA; Kanrich Finance vs. John Keells ‘A’ at Panagoda; Commercial Credit vs. DIMO at Colts and LB Finance vs. HNB at Katunayake.

The three ‘B’ Division matches were Powertek Cement vs. John Keells ‘B’ at BRC; Mobitel vs. MAS Silueta at Moratuwa and Singer vs. Unilever at Braybrooke Place.

It remains to be seen whether the same fate will befall the MCA’s two top leagues this weekend as well, with 10 matches in the Premier League and three matches in the ‘B’ Division to be played.
