Rajiv appointed as forwards coach for CH

Former Peterite, Havies and national player Rajiv Perera will be the Forwards Coach of the CH & FC rugby outfit for the 2020/2021 rugby season.

Rajiv who led the Bambalapitiya outfit in 1998 went on to represent the Junior national outfit at the Junior Rugby Asiad. He went on to represent the Western Province outfit and later on and led the Park Club for two seasons. For his outstanding performances he was selected for the senior national outfit and he was part of the winning outfit at the Asia Five Nations Division 1 tournament in Singapore.

Rajiv a top class all-rounder took up coaching and went on to get qualified to the top level in the country. He is a World Rugby Educator, qualified up to World Rugby level 3. He was also the national sevens coach at the Boreno Sevens which won the plate segment. He was also part of the Sevens outfit as an Assistant coach while doing the same role for the Havies. He is also part of the coaching staff in his alma mater.

During the Carlton Rugby Sevens he was in charge of the Eastern Eagles, Mobitel Eagles and was the Manager of EZY Wolves outfit. Rajiv will be working under Head Coach Rohitha Rajapaksa at the CH & FC rugby outfit with Sudharshana Muthuthanthri leading the outfit which is full of some outstanding rugby players.
