Ranjit Weerasena’s final journey today

The funeral of former Sri Lankan athlete and administrator Ranjit L. Weerasena will take place at the Borella Cemetery Roman Catholic Section at 3:30 p.m. today.

His remains which lie at No. 368, Galle Road, Colombo 3, will leave the residence at 2:45 p.m.

Weerasena, known fondly as the gentle giant of Sri Lankan athletics, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 79.
