Sri Lanka Cricket has signed up Red Bull, the world-renowned energy drink firm, as the ‘Official Energy Drink Partner of Sri Lanka Cricket’.

The three-year agreement to this effect was signed and exchanged between Sri Lanka Cricket and Red Bull recently.

During the partnership period, Red Bull will provide energy drinks to the players of both teams on the match days during bilateral tours. This is apart from several other considerations, including an investment towards developing the game of cricket in Sri Lanka.

“We are very happy to have a brand of the calibre of Red Bull as SLC’s ‘Energy Drink Partner,’ which we know is constantly focusing on promoting sports activities and teams across the world,’ Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva said.

“We are confident this partnership will help Red Bull harness the best value for the brand, while being a valuable partner to Sri Lanka Cricket as well,” he added.

Under the agreement, Red Bull will have the exclusive rights for energy drink availability within each stadium and match locations during the term, which shall include the right to engage in the sale, distribution, dispensing, and service of energy drinks to the public.

Since its inception in 1987, Red Bull, the pioneer in energy drinks as we know it today, has remained true to its promise of ‘Giving Wings’ to people and ideas. The brand strives at each turn to bring about the daring men and women of the world to achieve their dreams and ideas, by ‘vitalising body and mind’.

Former Sri Lanka Player and Red Bull Campus Cricket Global Tournament Director Brendon Kuruppu remarked: “Red Bull over many of the past years has been able to contribute successfully to the young sportsmen and women in the island, and Red Bull Campus Cricket which has been running successfully as the world stage of campus cricket has added much value to young campus cricketers to compete amongst top international talent from around the world.”

“Red Bull and Sri Lanka Cricket joining hands once again is indeed a great relationship which will benefit both brands and the sport to move forward together,” he further noted.

SLC Honorary Secretary Mohan de Silva, SLC CEO Ashley De Silva, Red Bull Campus Cricket Global Tournament Director Brendon Kuruppu, Sri Lanka National Team ODI and Test Captain Dimuth Karunaratne and Sri Lanka National Player and Red Bull Athlete Niroshan Dickwella were present during the occasion.
