Reshan Algama from Colombo International School and Jacob Norton from Stafford International have earned the opportunity to compete in the Black Mountain Asian Junior Masters, set to take place from 14 to 16 February at the Black Mountain Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand.

This prestigious junior tournament brings together top young golfers from across Asia and beyond, providing them with a world-class platform to test their skills. Mountain Asian Junior Masters is renowned for its highly competitive field and is played on the stunning Black Mountain Golf Club course, widely regarded as one of the most picture-perfect golf courses in Asia.

Algama and Norton qualified for this tournament through the selection trials conducted at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), facilitated by Sri Lanka Golf.

A victory at the Black Mountain Junior Masters will enable Norton to secure a place in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), while for Algama, it presents a valuable opportunity to improve his current WAGR standing. Additionally, the recent six-day development stint in the UAE, which Algama successfully completed and was fully funded by the World Amateur Association, should be of immense help to him. The experience and insights gained from this training will undoubtedly enhance his preparation for the tournament.

Their participation highlights Sri Lanka’s growing presence in international junior golf.
