Restart Football Sri Lanka launched in Batticaloa

Sri Lankan Football League members at the Restart Football Sri Lanka launch in Batticaloa 

Restart Football Sri Lanka, an initiative by the General Secretary of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka Jaswar Umar to strengthen the local football industry and make it a force to be reckoned at international level, was launched in Batticaloa on 9 April.

As unlike cricket, football has little or no opportunity as a career in Sri Lanka, Restart Football Sri Lanka is on a mission to build a future for local football players who are passionate about the sport.

The event was attended by over 100 members of local football leagues, as well as former presidents and committee members of the FFSL.

In addition to the ‘Restart Football’ campaign, Jaswar Umar is also the co-founder of ‘Football Friday’, an event organised by the sports management company, CPSM.(PDDS)
