Reza considered another Fazil
Former Kingswood rugby skipper, Police SC, CR & FC and national sevens sensation, Reza Rafaideen is tipped to return back to his hometown to represent the League champions, Kandy Sports Cub during the 2020/2021 rugby season.
Reza, who made his national sevens debut when Nishon Perera was injured – which was a surprising call for him into the Boreno Rugby Sevens outfit to Malaysia, under Dhanushka Ranjan in 2017. Reza who was into football till he was 15 years old, turned to rugby at a later stage of his school career in the Under 16 outfit.
He started his Under 19 career at the Randels Hill School. Reza who played a major part for the Red Shirts this year is an outstanding player both in attack and defence. He is considered to be another Fazil Marija of Sri Lankan Rugby. (SJ)
