Ritzbury, a devoted supporter of nurturing Sri Lankan sports, proudly announced substantial financial support for Tharushi Karunarathna, Dilhani Lekamge, and Aruna Dharshana, three outstanding athletes who have qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games. 

Under the Ritzbury “Mawbimata Weerayek” initiative, each athlete will receive Rs. 1 million, in appreciation of their hard work and commitment. The cheques were presented by CBL Foods International Ltd. General Manager – Marketing by Nilupul De Silva, commending their tireless efforts to keep Sri Lanka’s flag flying. 

Launched in 2019, the Ritzbury Mawbimata Weerayek program enhances the company’s support for national athletics. It identifies and supports budding athletes across Sri Lanka, providing financial aid to help them excel nationally and internationally. The initiative has significantly contributed to the development of athletics in the country.

From local tracks to international arenas, Ritzbury is proud to support Tharushi Karunarathna, Dilhani Lekamge, and Aruna Dharshana who have been part of the Ritzbury Mawbimata Weerayek program. Their dedication has earned them a place among the world’s elite competitors. As they head to the 2024 Olympics, they represent the program’s success in developing world-class talent and Ritzbury’s commitment to nurturing and empowering local athletes to compete globally.

Tharushi, as a rising star in Sri Lankan athletics, secured a Gold medal in the 800m at Asian Athletics Championships 2023 setting a new record and also won Gold in the 800m sprint at the 19th Asian Games, showcasing her resilience through the Ritzbury “Mawbimata Weerayek” program. Dilhani, with her relentless pursuit, Aruna, the athlete hailing from a humble background have qualified for the 2024 Olympics, demonstrating a promising future and inspiring athletes nationwide. 

The Ritzbury Mawbimata Weerayek program enhances this commitment by developing top talent for national and international success. Ritzbury’s enduring support for Karunaratne, Lekamge and Dharshana, as they prepare for the Olympics, symbolises hope for aspiring athletes and strengthens the brand’s dedication to the future of Sri Lankan athletics.
