Rizlan Iqbar former Antonian leads Qatar national cricket team

Former Katugastota Antonian cricketer (under 13, 15, 17 and 19) and Captain of the 1st XI outfit Rizlan Iqbar was appointed as the skipper of the Qatar national cricket team recently.

After leaving school Rizlan played for Kandy Cricket Club from 2001 to 2004. He was also the vice-captain of the outfit.

In Qatar he played and led the Galfar Cricket Club for the domestic league in Qatar since year 2015 winning many Man of the Match awards.

Rizlan was a member of the Sri Lanka cricket under-19 in 2003/2004 playing under Tharaka Kottehewa. Playing for Qatar National Cricket team since 2010 and he was promoted as vice-captain in 2016. Rizlan was also a fine all-rounder represented the Antonians in Rugby Football and Athletics.
