Rohan to run for NOC presidency

Amateur Rowing Association of Sri Lanka President Rohan Fernando yesterday confirmed that he will be running for the presidency of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).

“I am going to contest for the presidency,” Rohan told the Daily FT last night.

He was responding to a reference to him considering the move in the Daily FT yesterday in a story in which veteran tennis administrator Suresh Subramaniam announced his candidacy for the post of NOC President.

The election is scheduled for 23 February and all 31 federations under the NOCSL will get a vote each in a secret ballot.
