Rohitha appointed Head Coach at CH & FC

Former Thomian player, Navy SC, Havelock SC, Army SC, CH & FC, national player and present three quarter coach of the Junior national outfit, Rohitha Rajapakse was appointed as the Head Coach of the CH & FC rugby outfit for 2020/2021 rugby season.



Rohitha led the Thomian outfit at Under 13, 15, and 1st XV (2008). After leaving school he joined Sri Lanka Navy SC and led the outfit in 2013 to end as the unbeaten Knockout and League champions. In 2015 he led the Army outfit and a year later was at the Park Club with some short stint in his rugby career where he represented four clubs leading in three of them. He also becomes as the youngest club coach in the country at the age of 31 years.

Rohitha after joining CH & FC in 2017 led the outfit in 2018/2019 rugby season. He been one of the best readers of the game took in to coaching at a very young age looking after the Science lads and later on the Thurstan College  Under 19 outfit. He got qualified in level 3 and he is the youngest rugby educator in the country. For his hard work and commitment, he was handed over the duty as the three quarter coach of the national under 19 outfit during their China tour for the Asia Rugby Championship Under 19 division 1 in which Sri Lanka became champions.

Rohitha will have his school mate Sudharshana Muthuthanthri leading the outfit at CH & FC with Rajiv Perera supporting as the forwards coach while Sri Lanka’s first female Team Manager, Udani Edirisinghe will support him in order to show their power at the League and Knockout championship this season.
