Evergreen golfers Romesh Abeyratne and Radesh Daluwatte teamed up to win the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) Foursomes Men’s event which was worked off at their golf course in Nuwara Eliya yesterday. Both collected 35 stableford points.

Michael Sathasivam and A.W. Reza became runner-ups in the 40 golfers event. Young golfing sensations Haroon Aslam and Musa Shariff ended on fifth position by accumulating 31 points. This was the first time that the NEGC foursome was played where two golfers played as a team and the winners were selected from the pair who obtained the best Stableford score.

NEGC Captain’s Cup (10 April), President’s Cup (11 April) and the Aitken Cup (10 and 11 April) will take place. Presidents Prize which was inaugurated in 1984 will see the former Thomian cricketer cum top class Golfer Ranil Pieris as the defending champion of this while Captains Cup was last won by Aveenesh Kumar.
