The fourth Annual Junior National Fencing Championship was organised by the National Fencing Association of Sri Lanka (NAFSL) from 30-31 January at the Royal MAS Arena with over 32 schools competing to secure the championship.
The Royal College fencing team, under the Captaincy of Sahan Girihagama and Vice Captaincy of Maneka Gamage, was able to secure the championship after two years with two gold medals, three silver medals and seven bronze medals while the Royal fencing ‘B’ team was able to acquire two silver medals and two bronze medals.
Master-in-Charge Rathnasiri Cooray, Head Coach Gayan Bandara and Assistant Coaches Pasindu Rukshan and Udayangani Abeynayake worked tirelessly towards the development of the team with the support of Royal College Principal B.A. Abeyrathne, Senior Games Master M.A.M. Riyaz and the Parents Committee.
