The 5th Annual Football encounter between Royal College and Trinity College played for JR Jayewardene Challenge Trophy will take place today (2 December) at the Royal College Sports Complex.

This year’s encounters will be played in Under 16, Under 18, and Under 20 encounters with the U18 match starting at 11 a.m. followed by the U16 match at 1:30 p.m. while the main encounter at U20 will be played at 3 p.m.

Chief Guest will be the 1976 Royal skipper Nirmal De Silva. His presence will undoubtedly inspire the young players to emulate the legacy of excellence that Royal College has established in the realm of football. Football Federation of Sri Lanka President Jaswar Omar and former National Coach, Director – Technical and former national player Packeer Ali are the guests of honour. Their expertise and insights will undoubtedly contribute to the overall success of the encounter.

Royal College will be defending the title after winning convincingly 2-0 last year.
