Health Ministry staff who were involved in giving the jabs for rugby players

Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) players – both men and women – got their second dose of COVID-19 vaccination at the Sports Ministry recently. This was organised by SLR and supported by both the Sports Ministry and Health Ministry.

With both doses given, SLR is expecting to restart sevens rugby with a Club Sevens event, which is scheduled to take place in October. This event will be used as a yardstick for the selection of the national men's and women's outfit, who will feature in the Asian Rugby (AR) Sevens 2021 in UAE during the month of November.

As per AR, SLR is also scheduled to host the Asia Under-19 XV-a-side event in Colombo during the month of December between Hong Kong, South Korea, Taipei and Sri Lanka.
