A seminar and workshop took place for the referees and assistant referees of the Central Province before the commencement of the Schools Rugby second round yesterday at the Nittawela Rugby Stadium. With the Schools Rugby second round set to kick off on 31 May and the majority of the Plate encounters to take place in Kandy, this program was timed in an ideal manner and headed by former referee and level two-qualified CMO Aruna Rankothge. Twenty-two referees participated in this event.
The seminar focused on fair play, protecting players and the image of the game, as well as consistency and uniformity, and the referees’ physical fitness was checked.
