What a performance by youngster, Abhishek Anandakumara not only won the Best All Round Student (Ryde Gold Medal) at Trinity College, Kandy but also his foundation for this position was set long time back from his childhood. He started off winning the Junior School Best All Round Boy (2011). Middle School Best All Round Boy (2015), Cricket “Lion” (2018), Senior (Head) Prefect (2020) and 1st XI Cricket Captain (2020/21). This is remarkable and truly a tough record for the future Trinity school boy to break. That too what a time to achieve as the esteemed Institution celebrates its 150 years.

Currently Abishek is following following an International Business and Finance Degree while representing Kalutara Town Club in the Major Premier Cricket League. He already gained exposure in the Under 23 domestic cricket, in which he has played for Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club, Negombo Cricket Club and Chilaw Marians Cricket Club.

Abishek got another unique record leading the Trinity outfits in all age groups starting from Under 13 to Under 19 and later went on to represent Kandy District and Central Province teams. Apart from all these achievements he started off as the Vice-Captain of the Sri Lanka Schools Under 15 team which toured Malaysia in 2017.He also represented the college in Swimming and Athletics as well as being an important part in the Trinity College Choir team.

He was one of the rare Trintians to represent the College First XI team for 5 years and scored over 2500 runs and bagged over 150 wickets during these 5 years.

During the 2019/20 season he was the 5th highest wicket taker in the Island with 74 wickets and the 3rd in All - Round performances with 700 runs in his bag too. During the 2020/21 season too as the skipper of the side he led Trinity to the Semi Finals after a lapse of few years and ended the season as the joint highest wicket taker in the tournament.
