Sri Lankan football outfit led by Sujan Perera will meet the Indian team in their SAAF 2021 encounter at the National Stadium in Maldives today (7 October).
Sri Lanka, after losing out to Bangladesh 1-0 and Nepal 2-3, will be looking forward to their first win of the tournament. They will pin their hopes on leading players such as Dillon de Silva, Kavindu Ishan, Waseem Razik and skipper Sujan Perera, to deliver the goods. The Sri Lankan outfit showed marked improvement in their last game against Nepal showing their fighting qualities and never giving up. However, their passing and shooting was below the expected standards.
Meanwhile, India too are yet to register a win in this tournament, as such they will raring to go. A defeat here for Sri Lanka will put them out of the tournament, while India will have two more games after this – but their chances too of making the final will fade with a defeat here.
Sri Lanka (Probable XI): Sujan Perera (Capt.), Harsha Fernando, Chamod Dilshan, Charitha Ratnayake, Kavindu Ishan, Mohamed Shifan, Dillon de Silva, Mohamed Aakib, Chalana Chameera, Waseem Razik and Marvin Hamilton
