SAGT sponsors Women’s Rugby sevens

Women’s Rugby Development sevens tournament to be sponsored by SAGT 

• First inter-province Women’s sevens at Welisara

The first inter-province Women’s Rugby sevens tournament will be worked off tomorrow at the Navy Rugby Grounds in Welisara. 

Kick-off is scheduled at 8.30 a.m.

The Women’s Rugby Development sevens tournament will be organised and conducted by the Women’s Rugby Committee of Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) and sponsored by South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT). Twelve teams have confirmed participation from eight Provincial Unions.

1) North Western Province            –  2 teams 

2) Sabaragamuwa Province           –  2 teams

3) Uva Province                             –  2 teams 

4) Southern Province                     –  2 teams 

5) Central Province                        –  1 team 

6) Eastern Province                        –  1 team 

7) North Central Province             –  1 team

8) Western Province                      –  1 team    

 

SAGT Chief Commercial Officer Ted Muttiah will grace the tournament as the Chief Guest and will give away the trophies along with Guest of Honour Navy Rugby Committee Chairman Rear Admiral H. A. U. D. Hettiarachchi, and SLR President Lasitha Gunaratne.

SLR Deputy President Rizly Illyas will be the Chairman of the tournament organising committee.
