Amateur golfer Chanaka Perera was in sensational form showcasing his prowess with a remarkable 1 under par round of 72.
Perera’s precision and finesse on the course set a formidable benchmark for his competitors, demonstrating why he is considered one of Sri Lanka’s leading amateur golfers.
Uchitha Ranasinghe, who delivered an impressive even-par round of 73. The leaderboard remains tightly contested as Priya Hemantha shares the second spot with Ranasinghe, also carding a 73. Fifteen-year-old Reshan Algama from Colombo International School, securing the fourth position with a solid 1-over 74 round. Algama’s inclusion in the leaderboard adds a refreshing dynamic, showcasing the depth of talent among Sri Lanka’s young golfers. Jevahn encountered a challenging round, finishing with an unexpected 14-over score of 88. Despite this setback, Jevahn remains a formidable contender and will undoubtedly seek redemption in the coming days.
Top two amateurs will book their berth to the Indian tournament while 3rd and 4th will play in the Malaysian event.
