Half-centuries from Sharujan Shanmuganathan (62 off 99 balls, 2 fours) and Lakvin Abeysinghe (50 off 53 balls, 2 fours, 1 six) and a fine all-round bowling performance from Sri Lanka saw them defeat Nepal by 55 runs in their opening Group B match of the Under-19 Asia Cup in Sharjah yesterday.
Sri Lanka scored 233 in 50 overs and dismissed Nepal for 178 after they were 101-2 at the end of the 27th over.
