SLASSCOM Cricket Carnival 2019 to take place this weekend

Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM), the country’s knowledge and innovation chamber, is hosting its first ever Cricket Carnival on Saturday 27 July, 2019 at the CH&FC grounds from 8.00 am onwards. Leading to the event, the pre-event rules briefing session and team draw was held at Hatch on 18 July with the participation of all the team captains, who were eagerly looking forward to taking part in the event.

This one-of-a-kind sporting event will feature cricketing talent of over 60 teams from Sri Lanka’s leading IT and BPM companies. They will initially battle on a league basis and thereafter followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. Each team will consist of six males and two females, and face four overs. In the event of a tie, the teams will face a super-over! If the super-over reaches a tie, the winning team will be determined by the number of boundaries scored against the opponent. 

The event is expected to attract over 1,500 industry professionals, who will have the opportunity to connect with each other while enjoying some exciting cricket. This event will also have a variety of mouth-watering food stalls, giveaways, DJ music, kids’ games and a variety of other fun activities.
