The officials of two countries shared their vision while discussions were highly focused on strengthening badminton ties between the two national and exploring the possible opportunities for collaboration in the sport. One of the key components that were discussed was the proposal to establish a series of friendly badminton tournaments between SLB’s Regional Development Pool Players and the Under-13 and Under-15 age group players from South Korea, to which the BAC willingly committed to fully sponsor the event. The tournaments will enhance the international exposure and competitive experience of young players of both countries as discussed by the officials.

Both parties also initiated discussion of a potential partnership to provide high-quality badminton racquets to Sri Lankan players, utilising the expertise and advance technology of South Korean manufacturers. The BASK President also pledged his fullest assistance in providing necessary resources for upcoming training camps in South Korea, conducted by their expert badminton coaches.

An agreement will be inked by both badminton associations in the near future with a long term vision. The collaboration between SLB and BAC is an important milestone in fostering long term relationships and the commitment to foster youth development and resource sharing with a mutual vision.
