The knockout stage of the SLC Major Clubs T20 tournament has been indefinitely postponed due to the bad weather currently experienced around the country.

The quarter-finals were scheduled to be played yesterday at the NCC and SSC grounds but Sunday’s deluge left the venues unfit for play.

The knockout stage has undergone three postponements due to the bad weather which continues to persist.

The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final are now likely to be played between 23 and 27 June where there is a window in the calendar free before the commencement of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) fifth edition.

The LPL will run from 1-22 July and the five participating teams are expected to check into their respective hotels on 28 June.

The SLC Major Club 50-over tournament will commence as scheduled on 10 June with the participation of 18 clubs. The tournament will complete its first leg on 22 June.

It will resume the second leg after the completion of the LPL, on 26 July and conclude on 11 August with the final.
