Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday said every Premier Club was granted a minimum sum of Rs. 4 million per annum, for cricket-related infrastructure development in their respective clubs, which includes areas such as ground development and other related work.
The funds were released after a careful evaluation by the National Development Centre of the SLC whilst SLC monitored the work carried out by the respective clubs out of the grants given.
All grants were paid in cheques and transferred to the respective accounts of the clubs and not to individuals, as mentioned in certain media reports.
SLC was responding to media reports regarding grants made by SLC to Premier Division Clubs during the last four years.
