SLC hands over cheque for $ 30,000 to SL Rugby

Sri Lanka Cricket handed over the promised $ 30,000 to the national rugby team, which elevated itself to the top tier of the Asian Rugby circle by winning the Asia Rugby Division 1 Championship recently.

The handing over of the reward was done during a felicitation dinner hosted for the National Rugby team by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

The recognition was accepted by the Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Harin Fernando, in the presence of Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs Secretary K. Mahesan, Department of Sports Development Director General Dr. Shemal Fernando and Group Captain Sri Lanka Rugby President Nalin de Silva. 

The handing over of the cheque was done by Sri Lanka Cricket Head of Marketing Upul Nawaratne Bandara.
