SLC offers contracts to 20 umpires

Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to grant contracts to 20 premier umpires for the first time, in an effort to uplift the wellbeing of the cricket umpires in the country. 

SLC Executive Committee, which met recently, approved the proposal presented by Chairman of the Umpires Committee, Deepal Madurapperuma. SLC said it would provide a monthly fixed allowance for the selected umpires, who would be divided into three categories – International, Emerging and Level 1. The International category includes four umpires, followed by six in the emerging category and 10 in Level 1.
