SLC says it respects De Mel’s move

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) yesterday said it respects the decision by Chairman of the Selection Committee Ashantha De Mel to resign with immediate effect, citing personal reasons.

“We respect Ashantha’s decision and thank him for the services he rendered to SLC during his tenure as the Chairman of the Cricket Selection Committee,’’ SLC CEO Ashley De Silva said in a brief statement.
