SLC to not field emerging team in MCA Premier League

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) confirmed the non-participation of an emerging team in the Singer-MCA Premier League 2021, even though an understanding was reached prior to the event that an emerging team would take part in the league. 

Following is the SLC’s statement.

“SLC wishes to inform you that Sri Lanka Cricket did not field an emerging team to play in the ongoing MCA Premier League 2021, as planned earlier.

“This decision was taken following recommendations made by the Technical Advisory Committee of the SLC, which felt that more focus should be given to the performance programs lined up for the players of the emerging and development squads.

“SLC duly notified this decision to the Mercantile Cricket Association.”
