With the Major Club T20 cricket tournament scheduled to commence today, 4 March, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Umpires and Match Referees Educator T.H. Wijewardena updated members of the SLC Scorers Association (SLCSA) of the new rules and regulations that have been introduced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in addition to the playing conditions of the tournament.
The workshop was held at the Western Province Cricket Association Auditorium at Khettarama yesterday morning.
Among the ICC rules and regulations discussed were COVID regulations, player replacement, on field injuries and use of surgical plaster.
Among the tournament rules, Wijewardena stressed on the importance of scorers being conversant with the time allowances and discussed various scenarios that may take place and how they should be recorded.
