In a fine turn of events in the leaderboard, Uchitha Ranasinghe delivered a stunning performance at the end of day two at the Sri Lanka Golf Ranking Tournament in Nuwara Eliya yesterday.

Shooting a remarkable four-under-par, Ranasinghe climbed to the top position with a splendid gross score of 143. His impressive round put him three strokes ahead of the first day leader Haroon Aslam, who slipped to second place with a score of 146.

Chalitha Pushpika, who started the day in second place, found the challenging greens ending day two in third place with a score of 149. Dhanaranjan followed closely, securing fourth place with a total score of 150.

Reshan, showing some good golf, resilience, and strategic play, climbed into the top five with a gross score of 155. Chanaka Perera’s consistent form secured him sixth position after a solid two-over-par round, giving him a total of 156.

P.S.D. Kumara and Jevahn Sathasiwam ended the day tied at 158 for the seventh and eighth positions, respectively. Youngster Yannik, despite a tough day with a 13-over-par, managed to round out the top 10 with a total of 161.

Uchitha Ranasinghe, now in the lead, will need to sustain his exceptional form under pressure, while Haroon Aslam and others will be keen to reclaim or improve their standing. The tournament’s final stages promise a blend of suspense, skill, and scenic beauty, providing a treat for both players and spectators alike.

Day three will take place today (19 June) at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (NEGC) course in the Hill Country.
