SLIC Badminton players dominate Nationalised Service Badminton Association rankings

Asanka Perera – No. 1 of Nationalised Service Badminton Association Ranking	Sanjaya Dahanayake – No. 2 of Nationalised Service Badminton Association Ranking

• SLIC players achieved 3 ranks in top 10 rankings – Nos. 1, 2 and 7

Sri Lanka Insurance badminton players Asanka Perera ranked No. 1 while Sanjaya Dahanayake ranked No. 2 and Nalin Perera ranked No. 7 in the latest rankings issued by Nationalised Service Badminton Association (NSBA). 

Further to the individual top rankings achieved, the SLIC Badminton team was crowned as champions of Nationalised Service Badminton Association ‘A’ division League Tournament and Knockout Tournament in year 2018.

Asanka Perera, the No. 1 ranked player, shone for the SLIC team together with No. 2 ranked player Sanjaya Dahanayake to achieve the NSBA ‘A’ Division League & Knockout team championships and Asanka also championed the Open Men’s Single and Open mix doubles while Sanjaya became the semifinalist of Open Men’s Single.

The victorious team comprised Saliya Pathiraja, Asanka Perera, Sanjaya Dahanayake, Nalin Perera, Sisira Gunawardena, Priyantha Weerasinghe and Chandima Pallewela.
