SLR case postponed

Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) case at Court of Appeal was postponed to 11 Aug 2023 due to Senior ASG Sumathi Dharmawardena representing the Minister of Sports was not present.                                                                                                                                        

Faiz Musthapha PC appeared on behalf of the SLR stated that due to the limited time available for training and to prepare for other compulsory arrangements for the upcoming Asia games, the matter was of extreme urgency.                                                                                                                                        

Due to the suspension of SLR via Gazette and stabilisation committee, SLR cannot find sponsors or funding of the Asian games training and participation President Counsel also stated that 22 Million was needed urgently in order to prepare for training since only 32 days of training  remained.                                                                                                                                    The President Counsel Uditha Eggalahewa who appeared for the Stabilisation committee stated that the Minister of Sports has indicated his willingness to provide the money for this purpose.(SJ)
