Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRFA) will hold an important committee meeting today (April 26) in order to decide on the immediate future of the Singer League 2019. They are likely to obtain permission from The Defense Ministry, Education Ministry and Sports Ministry to re-start the Singer Schools League Rugby tournament.

Action from second round was to start on April 27 but due to the uncertain security situation in the country this was postponed by a further week, and now it is likely to commence on May 3. Once the League is completed, the knock out tournament was scheduled to commence, allowing the G C E A/L students to prepare for their examinations in August 2019.
If the league commences in first week of May, the school knock out will follow soon after as scheduled, giving ample time for preparations. In August (24 and 25), the Sri Lanka Under 20 sevens outfit will feature in the Asia Rugby Championship 2019. The hosting country is yet to be announced by Asia Rugby.
