SLT-MOBITEL powers Speedup Southern Eliyakanda Hill Climb

SLT-MOBITEL, has joined hands with the Southern Motor Sports Club (SMSC) to launch the 26th edition of the SLT-MOBITEL Speedup Southern Eliyakanda Hill Climb.

This sponsorship of the renowned motor race by SLT-MOBITEL will be done for the seventh consecutive time. The upcoming event was announced during a press conference which was held jointly by SLT-MOBITEL and SMSC at the Royal College Skills Centre recently.

The racing spectacle will comprise of 13 motorcycle entries and 15 motor car events that will face an uphill course covering a distance of 600 m, performed in three stages. The race will be held on Sunday, 20 February. This year a record number of entries have been received with 120 Cars and 94 Motorcycles entering the fray. 

The Southern Eliyakanda Hill Climb event, which is being held under the theme ‘SLT-MOBITEL Speedup’ is yet another initiative through which SLT-MOBITEL supports and empowers the local sports scene and elevates it to the next level. The event thematically connects SLT-MOBITEL Speedup with SLT-MOBITEL’s ultra-high speed broadband internet, highlighting the experience that the company brings to customers through its fastest home and mobile broadband solutions.

The SLT-MOBITEL Speedup Southern Eliyakanda Hill Climb is a national championship event which has been functioning under the approval of the Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS), the governing body for motor sports in Sri Lanka. Motor and bike racing enthusiasts from across the island will no doubt get to experience a taste of Sri Lankan motor sports at its finest.
