Expolanka Freight Ltd., Classic Travels, and ITX 360 Managing Director Saif Yusoof was unanimously re-elected as the President of Mercantile Football Association for the term of 2020/22 at the 97th Annual General Meeting held at the FFSL Auditorium recently.
Saif Yusoof, an ardent football lover and a leading corporate professional is the Founder, owner, and President of the Colombo Football Club, which was inaugurated in 2008.
He was elected as the youngest President of the Mercantile Football Association in 2019 when the Association reached its centenary. His dynamic professional corporate background in the mercantile sector has helped to give a new dimension to mercantile football with a touch of global standards. Mercantile Football Association was inaugurated in 1918 under the British. The MFA is presently has a membership of over 40 mercantile blue chip companies including banks, finance companies, telecommunication partners, insurance companies, garment industries, travel trade related companies and hospitality trade. At the moment several companies are in the waiting list to obtain membership. Annually, the Mercantile Football Association conducts four major tournaments such as, the League tournament & the Knockout tournament under five divisions & further the Annual Seven a side and the Futsal five a side tournament. The Association is planning to conduct a Beach Soccer Tournament in the near future.
