Sri Lanka Navy Sports Club beat Havelock Sports Club by 26 points (4 tries, 3 conversions) to 6 points (2 penalties) in their Nippon Paint Inter Club Rugby league encounter which concluded at the Race Course ground last weekend.

Navy SC drew first blood through scrum half, Harsha Maduranga with his school mate from Isipathana Thilina Weerasinghe adding the extra 2 points to take an early 7/0 lead.

Two penalties by Sandesh Jayawickrema reduced the gap to one point difference. But Navy increased their lead once more through Thilina Weerasinghe’s try and conversion.

At the short breather, Sailors led 14/6.

After the turn around two more Navy SC tries by Dananjaya Seneviratne and Deshan Vimukthi took the Navy SC to an easy 26/6 securing third position. Thilina Weerasinghe was on target with the last kick at goal. The Referee was Hasantha Weranga. Navy SC ended on number 3 while Havelock SC was pushed down to number 4.
