Sajeev de Silva achieves Olympic Qualification Level in Archery

Sajeev de Silva, the highest ranked Sri Lankan archer at present, has surpassed the required performance score for participation in the 2024 Olympic Games at the 7th Kartini International Archery Championship held in Jakarta, Indonesia in April.

Over 120 athletes representing Malaysia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, and other countries participated in this tournament. Sajeev de Silva secured second place in the qualifying competition of the 70m open singles competition with an Olympic performance score. Following this impressive performance, he went on to win the silver medal in the knockout competition.

Sajeev is currently training for the final match to directly qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which will be held in June 2024 in Turkey.

“It is an incredible feeling to have achieved this milestone, and I’m looking forward to representing Sri Lanka on the global stage. I’m dedicated to giving my best performance and making my country proud,” said Sajeev de Silva.
