Continuing to nurture and support sports at all levels, Sampath Bank Sports Club honoured its sportsmen and women at its Colours Night 2018 held at Grand Monarch, Thalawathugoda recently.

Sampath Bank PLC Managing Director Nanda Fernando was the Chief Guest at the event, which was attended by more than 200 of the bank’s sports stars from across 10 sporting disciplines. 

Sampath Bank Consumer Banking Senior Deputy General Manager and Sampath Bank Sports Club President Tharaka Ranwala and along with other members of the bank’s Corporate Management team were present at the event.

Vinoth Kanakalingam who broke a 23-year-old 800 m Meet Record at the Mercantile Athletic Championship 2018 was awarded ‘Player of the Year – 2018.’ Further, 12 ‘Second Year Colours’ were awarded to athletes who won first place for the second consecutive year at their respective events while 34 ‘Colours 2018’ were awarded to athletes and hockey and netball players who won championships and placed first at their respective tournaments and events in 2018. In addition to the above, 79 sportsmen and women were felicitated with Awards 2018, representing athletics, badminton, basketball, football, hockey, netball and swimming.
