Both Commercial Bank and Sampath Bank were declared as Joint Champions in the 4th Mercantile 9 A Side hockey tournament top division due to heavy rain at the Astro Turf in Colombo. Browns were placed third in the event.
In the B Division, Seylan Bank claimed a decisive 2/0 victory over CIAP, driven by an exceptional performance from Radun Dharmaratne. NTB emerged victorious in the C Division with a narrow 1/0 win against Singer, with Shifan Kamaleen playing a crucial role in the team’s success.
The D Division saw Hemas Group securing a 2/0 win over David Peiris Motor Company, led by a stellar showing from Kavindu Mahawansakkara.
This year’s tournament also featured new entries from CIAP and Hemas Group, adding fresh competition and excitement to the event.
